Toronto Mayor David Miller targets welfare rolls to explain Toronto's Budget Woes during the Garbage Strike
To quote Mayor Miller "Because of the worldwide recession particularly because of welfare costs the city is not in a position to be generous.
We have to create an affordable agreement.": The Toronto Tribune noticed
Mayor Miller on at least three occasions on the same day referred to those on social assistance to explain the city's budget problems;
thus there's no money
for the garbage collectors. There was plenty for the cops, firemen and city
councilors. Try living
on $572 a month that's what someone on welfare has to do in the city of Toronto. They have enough problems they don't need people to blame them for
the garbage strike thanks to the Mayor's comments.
