Poor Get Poorer:
Toronto calls out
the Cops!
Poor Get Poorer: Call out the Cops!:
Poor get poorer given the lack of concern by all
levels of politicians: federal, provincial and municipal. With the loss of over 350 shelter beds
and thousands of meals the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty took it to the city; holding Allan
Gardens overnight in an attempt to feed the poor. What a terrible thing they did
: according to the city bureaucrats who did their best to shut it down. OCAP
stayed put despite the cops enforcing a by-law that parks are closed at midnight. Green grass
more important than food and shelter for the homeless; not to mention no money for beds and food but
plenty of funds are available to pay overtime for Toronto's boys and gals in blue?
Who sets these priorities: politicians and bureaucrats. That explains it all!
Poverty Reduction = Growing Stronger in Deb Matthews' Private Thesaurus.:
Deb Matthews apparently invited The Ontario Coalition Against Poverty (OCAP) to attend one of her poverty meetings unfortunately she didn't send them
their very own decoder ring, so that they could figure out she wanted their input.
If that was her goal: not likely
considering the sneaky way Matthews went about it. How hard would it have been to call OCAP and say 'hey
Deb Matthews here, can you come to my meeting?' She didn't do something so simple like picking up a phone
and dialing a number. What's in a name: anti-poverty group = growing stronger together in the mind of a
waste-all-the-resources-I-can-but-do-nothing-about-the-issue Liberal.
Rehabilitation!:
Rehabilitation, our editor continues to document her battle
with cancer. This is her second attempt to defeat this disease once and for all. This time
mobility had to be given up and rehabilitation was in order.
