Chemo Part II

Chemo Infusor

Ever wonder what chemo is? What it looks like? Above is an infusor that contains one version of chemotherapy. The chemo in that device takes 7 days to enter into one's body. Not all chemo is the same.

The Toronto Tribune's editor has learned that her cancer has returned. This time the battle begins with a 5 week long daily dose of radiation along with continuous Chemotherapy to be given 7/24 for 5 weeks. Radiation takes five minutes but is delivered every week day. Neither is a painful process. It is the side effects that are problematic.

It's frightening until after the first treatment. Even if one does react negatively knowing what to expect and how to accommodate the issues helps in each progressive treatment.

Here, our editor will write of the continuing battle with cancer. The treatments will take place at Princess Margaret Hospital. It will be a good chance to see whether the multiple issues encountered with that hospital last year continue or have been addressed.

The word 'cancer' is terrifying. Hopefully reading about the ability to endure the treatment while continuing to work on The Toronto Tribune and International Art Treasures will help those facing this awful disease. The best advice is: stay positive!
